Nonprofits must practice sound financial practices using meaningful financial information in the current economic and funding crisis. Protecting current assets and understanding today’s financial picture with the ability to forecast for the future is critical to the sustainability of nonprofits. The workshop will focus on:
- Internal controls to preserve the current funding and assets – Attention will be focused on developing the who, what, when and how of an effective and efficient framework for a finance office, whether it be one person wearing multiple hats or a full-sized department. As nonprofits restructure in response to the economy, care must be taken that internal controls are re-evaluated and developed for today
- Financial reporting to plan, monitor and evaluate operations – Budgeting, cash flow budgeting, internal and external reporting are critical to measuring and communicating the financial picture of the organization.

Please join us as we address the critical concepts of internal controls and meaningful financial reporting in order to ensure the future of your nonprofit. A manual of sample policies and tools will be provided to each registrant.
